There are many different AR15 Quad Rails on the market, and it can be confusing to decide which rail is best for you. Here are some things to take into consideration when ordering a rail for your rifle
Length
Ease of install (is a gunsmith required)
Weight
Gas Block Clearance
Free-Float or Fixed Point
Daniel Defense has a good solution to many of these problems with their Omega Rail line. These lightweight rails require no gunsmith to install their free float quad rail. A Free Float Quad Rail is the best choice usually if accuracy is the main concern.
Most carbine length AR15s have a fixed 'A' tower sight. If you want to install a longer rail than you have you will need a Low Profile Gas Blockto replace your standard 'A' Tower.. Remember if you are going to attempt to install the rail yourself you may need the AR-15 Multi-Tool, and the AR15 Vise Block.
